Sai Sudharsan has been named in the 18-member Indian squad for the upcoming five-match series against England.
Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan celebrated his Indian Test team call-up by cutting a cake in the presence of his IPL teammates. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an 18-member squad for the upcoming five-match Test series in England.
The southpaw has been brilliant with the bat in IPL 2025. His immense consistency over the past few years while representing Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket has earned him a place in the Indian Test squad. The Gujarat-based franchise posted a few clicks on the social media where he could be seen smashed with cake.
His franchise opening partner Shubman Gill also received positive news as he was appointed as the Indian Test skipper. Three other GT players - Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar - also earned a spot in the 18-member squad.

Speaking about the match, GT took on the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the first innings, CSK posted 230 for 5 in their 20 overs, with a brilliant performance from Dewald Brevis (57 off 23) and Devon Conway (52 off 35). For GT, Prasidh Krishna picked two wickets and bowled economically, giving just 22 runs in his four-over spell.
Speaking about the IPL journey, GT are at the first position in the IPL 2025 points table with 18 points. They will aim to win the clash against the men in yellow to seal their top spot in the points table. On the other hand, CSK have been knocked out of the tournament and are last in the points table. They will aim to win the match against GT to end their campaign on a positive note.
