Jayden Seales produced a stunning spell in the third over of India's innings during the third and final ODI against West Indies on October 3, 2026, at New Chandigarh's Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium. A full delivery that moved into Virat Kohli around the middle stump line beat his attempted flick across the line and crashed into the middle stump, sending him back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Footage of the dismissal has been shared on social media and it has drawn wide attention online. The clip captured Seales generating inward movement that breached Kohli's defences and flattened the middle stump, leaving the New Chandigarh crowd stunned. India were 4 for 2 inside the third over at the time of the dismissal.

Seales removes Gill and Kohli in the same over

Seales had also removed Gill just moments earlier in the same over. Gill was dismissed for 1 off 6 balls off the third ball of the third over, edging a back-of-a-length delivery that angled in. West Indies captain Shai Hope took a one-handed catch diving to his left to complete the dismissal. A wide separated the two wicket deliveries from Seales.

India had won the toss and elected to bat first in the series decider. The early loss of both openers and Kohli inside the third over made it a significant moment in the context of the match.

India's batting lineup for the 3rd ODI

India made three changes to their playing XI after having won the series already. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mohammed Siraj returned to the side, while Anshul Kamboj was handed a debut. Auqib Nabi, Ravindra Jadeja, and Prasidh Krishna made way for the trio. India's middle-order hadn't been tested in the first two matches, but it seems like it will have to fire on Saturday after the early blows from the tall West Indies fast bowler.

The twin strikes from Seales left India in early trouble in the series-deciding ODI, with the hosts needing a significant recovery effort to post a competitive total at New Chandigarh.
