Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten century knock for India in a winning cause
Coming to the ODI World Cup 2023 match, India batted first and posted a formidable total of 326 runs in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to an outstanding century by Virat Kohli. The opening batter, Rohit Sharma, provided a blazing start, while Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of 77 runs, including six fours and two sixes. Some late contributions by Ravindra Jadeja helped India surpass the 300-run mark.
In pursuit of the target, the South African team struggled from the beginning, losing wickets at regular intervals. Mohammad Siraj made the breakthrough by dismissing Quinton de Kock, who had been in exceptional form and was the tournament's leading run-scorer. Jadeja then took over with his exceptional bowling performance, making it difficult for the Proteas batters to score.
Jadeja displayed remarkable skills and maintained excellent control over his bowling. The pitch also favoured the spinners, making it even more challenging for the South African batters. None of them managed to make a significant score, and eventually, they were bowled out for a mere 83 runs. India won the match by a massive margin of 243 runs.
