Ace cricketer Virat Kohli announced his decision to step away from Test cricket on Monday, May 12 via an Instagram post. Kohli, who is the 269th player to represent India in the red-ball format, called it quits after 123 matches for the side. Shortly after officiating his call, Virat was spotted at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport alongside wife Anushka Sharma.
The video of their arrival at the airport went viral over the internet, leaving fans in speculation of where the duo will be taking a flight to. There is no information on where the power couple are headed to, but there is a possibility that they will either be flying to Bengaluru as Kohli has to re-unite with RCB squad for the remainder of IPL 2025, which is reportedly resuming by Thursday or Friday.

'#269 signing off' - Virat Kohli retires from Test cricket
Speaking more about Kohli's Test career, he stepped down from the format after scoring 9230 runs, which also includes a staggering tally of 30 centuries. In the five-day format, Kohli averaged over 46 before saying goodbye. The ace cricketer has gone on to mention that taking the call to is very tough because of the love he has for the format, but at the same time, he also feels that it is the right moment for him to fade himself away.
"As I step away from this format, it’s not easy — but it feels right. I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m walking away with a heart full of gratitude — for the game, for the people I shared the field with, and for every single person who made me feel seen along the way. I’ll always look back at my Test career with a smile. #269, signing off," Virat wrote in his social media post.
