Mumbai Indians (MI) batting sensation Tilak Varma has garnered a lot of eyeballs for his impressive performances in the ongoing IPL 2023. The batter yet again carved out a quickfire knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad, upon which renowned broadcaster Harsha Bhogle shared a special message on his social media handle.

The 20-year-old Hyderabad-born batter was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 1.7 crore in the auction to ply his trade for the franchise. Since the start of the ongoing season, the batter has played quite a few scintillating knocks which have garnered praise from all across the cricketing fraternity, including the broadcast team.

Against RCB, his first match of the 2023 edition, the batter clobbered an unbeaten 84 runs despite his innings ending in vain. In his most recent outing against the SRH, Tilak played a blazing cameo, smoking four maximums and two boundaries to score 37 runs off mere 17 balls. In doing so, one of the most well-known broadcasters in the cricketing fraternity, Harsha Bhogle, took to his Twitter handle to share a rather heartwarming message for Tilak, which has a Telugu twist to it.

“Tilak Varma, @TilakV9, meeru kachhitanga India ki aadutaru (You will definitely play for India),” Tweeted Harsha Bhogle.

Tilak has amassed 214 runs in five outings thus far in the competition for the five-time winners and will continue to get the vital runs down the order.

MI edge past SRH to earn third straight win

Star of the evening, Cameron Green returned with a Player of the Match performance after scoring a blistering 40-ball 64* and getting one wicket in his four overs for mere 29 runs. Though SRH tried to put up a fight in the run chase, the breakthroughs at regular intervals cost them the game.

Notably, Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen got 48 and 36 runs, respectively and also stitched a 55-run partnership to help SRH get back into the contest. However, the all-round show from Mumbai overshadowed Hyderabad’s fightback during the chase, thereby earning a third straight win of the season.
