Test cricket has time and again shown that it is the ultimate test and the ongoing series between Australia and India down under has shown that the longest format of the game isn’t dying. The two teams have fought neck to neck as Australia after conceding a lead in Adelaide came back to level terms at Perth. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is pretty optimistic and in favour of the visitors.

He is of the opinion that Team India could win the remaining two Tests comfortably and clinch the series. Ganguly conceded that there is a lot of talk in the Australian media about how the Indian team is looking vulnerable against a second string home side. The tourists suffered a heavy loss at Perth after a poor batting performance. The loss has been attributed to poor team selection and their top order which has crumbled miserably.

Australian media have also talked about how Virat Kohli, the captain had fumbled under pressure to concede a win to Tim Paine’s men. The 30-year-old, who was the much-hyped player before the series, has been slammed and mocked by the former Aussie greats for his behaviour and reactions on the field. Not only Aussie greats, but also his own countrymen have questioned the maverick batsman’s captaincy.

The first Test at Adelaide ended in an ecstatic fashion, with India clinging on to a historic win. The hosts Australia were threatening to chase down a daunting target of 323 successfully after being seven down for 187. However, they lost by a relatively narrow margin of 31 runs.

Dada asks everyone not to go too far ahead

The Prince of Kolkata wrote on Twitter to not go too far ahead as India have the capability to emerge victorious against this Australian side. The 46-year-old understands the firing that is being blown up on the Indian side but maintained that the visitors may win against a “Smith and Warner” less side.

The 113-Test veteran also said earlier that barring Pujara and Kohli no other batsmen have adapted to the conditions well in Australia and that they need to perform as a team to get going. The Boxing Day Test begins on the 26th of December at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
