The ongoing Test series between South Africa and Pakistan also marked the return of Mohammad Amir. The left arm pacer has been out of action for some time now. He went through a rigid phase and was excluded from the team for a reasonable period. However, the 26-year-old finally made a comeback in the Centurion Test.

Amir went on to pick four wickets in the first innings. While he bowled well in the second innings too, South Africa didn’t have much trouble chasing 149. Ever since the Champions Trophy final in 2017 where he rattled the Indian top order, Amir had been going through a rough patch. However, he seems in much better rhythm so far.

Mohammed Amir Breaks the timber into two

In the ongoing Test at Newlands, Cape Town, Amir continued the impressive form with another four-wicket haul. After cutting short Dean Elgar’s stay at the crease, the left arm pacer also took down Quinton De Kock who was looking dangerous. However, it was his delivery against Vernon Philander which was a spectacle to watch.

One hell of a late inswinger that bamboozled the leg stump into two pieces. It was quite a sight to watch as the Pakistani players joined the celebration. In the very same over, Amir also accounted for the wicket of Dale Steyn. Here’s a video of Amir’s spectacular delivery to Philander which got him bowled:

While Pakistan were bundled early in the first innings, South Africa put up a mammoth total of 431 runs on the board. Skipper Faf Du Plessis went on to register a brilliant century. He was supported by Temba Bavuma and De Kock who registered important fifties. South Africa need 41 runs to win the game and series.
