With the advent of T20 cricket, the size of the boundaries are getting smaller and the bats are getting meatier. Flat batting friendly wickets will only add much more problems for the bowlers.

Nowadays, it’s a common sight to see the ball sail over the ropes for even miss hits and top edges. The veteran Indian off-spinner feels that the balance between bat and ball is going out and the pacers even have an option of the bouncer, but the spinners are the ones who suffer more. “Being a bowler, I feel for them as the game is in favour of batsmen these days. The boundaries are getting smaller as a result of which bowlers are being hit all around the park. Fast bowlers still have the option of the bouncer but spinners suffer the wrath,” Harbhajan told reporters during the launch of mobile sporting application ‘Ballr’.

The 35-year old also said that, particularly this season, the pitches have been really good to bat on. “This IPL season the wickets have been really good to bat on, that is also a reason why we are having high scoring encounters very often.”

Harbhajan suggested that it would not be a bad idea to elongate the boundary ropes like in Australia to stop the onslaught of runs. “To counter the flow of runs, we [bowlers] can request the concerned people governing the IPL to make the boundaries a little bigger next year. In Australia, the boundaries are generally between 75 to 80 meters which in comparison to India is much bigger,” he said.

Earlier, there had been rumours that he will be judging a comedy show, to which Harbhajan Singh said “no one has approached” him for any show. He told IANS: “I am clueless about it… No one has approached me for the show.”  The cricketer was in the national capital for the launch of mobile sporting app BALLR. He has earlier featured on the small screen in dance reality shows like “Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena” and “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”.
