Friday will be an all-important day for Shantakumaran Sreesanth, for it will decide if he still has any professional cricket left in his spot-fixing marred career. Earlier, his intentions of a comeback into the game were met with a huge jolt when the Board of Control for Cricket in India refused to lift the life ban imposed on him.

In September 2013, the board had imposed a life ban on him on grounds of spot-fixing and had to spend time behind bars at the Tihar Jail. Also, other Rajasthan Royals players Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were picked up from the team hotel.

“Sreesanth attended the court hearing on Tuesday and will remain present at Kerala High Court on Friday too,” the source close to him said.

It was also made clear that the hearing was only for whether he will play in Scotland or no, and had nothing to do with his life-ban. Sreesanth’s lawyer confirmed, “These arguments are only for getting NOC for Sreesanth to play in Scotland and nothing related to his life-ban or else,”

“The court has postponed the hearing on 21st April after BCCI filed its reply stating not issuing NOC to Sreesanth,” the lawyer said.

The Kerala bowling is seeking NOC (No Objection Certificate) to feature for Glenrothes Club in the Scotland Premier League.

Sreesanth told reporters that he is not following the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League, and is focusing all his attention on Test cricket.

“I have not been watching the matches. Only on and off get some news on the IPL,” he was quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.

“I have not interest in the IPL. Want to concentrate on Test cricket only. My aim is to play for India in Tests,” he stressed.

Sreesanth has previously featured in a total of 27 Tests for India and is eager to make a comeback.
