Team Sri Lanka is likely to draft in two more players to their existing squad in India. The national side is currently playing the Indian team in the 3-match ODI series. The series stands leveled 1-1 with the decider set to be played at Vizag in a couple of days. After the conclusion of the ODI series, the Indian team will host the islanders for three T20Is. The first T20I will be played at Cuttack on December 20.

The next two games will be played on December 22, and December 24. Now, as per the recent reports in CricketAge, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is likely to announce two additions to their squad. Pace bowling all-rounder Dasun Shanaka and pace bowler Vishwa Fernando are tipped to make the cut to the national side. Both players have represented the national side previously across the different formats of the game.

Talking about Dasun Shanaka, he had his moment of fame when he had come up with sparkling performances the last time Sri Lanka had toured in India in 2016. Also, he was a part of the Sri Lankan team in the Test series that preceded the ongoing ODI series between the two Asian neighbors.

Shanaka had played in the Kolkata Test and also in the Nagpur Test. He was dropped from the playing eleven in the Delhi Test. He was subsequently not named in the ODI squad. In the T20I series against Pakistan, Shanaka had scored a fifty in the final match at Lahore.

Fernando yet to make T20I debut

Meanwhile, Vishwa Fernando has not played a single game on this tour thus far. Also, he has not made his T20I debut for Sri Lanka yet. He, however, has played 2 Tests and 6 ODIs for the national side. The addition of these two players will certainly give the newly appointed skipper, Thisara Perera, a greater pool of players to pick from.
