Sri Lanka had paid back to their fans who supported the team endlessly, despite coming on the back of a disastrous series in England where they failed to win a single match in the series. Sri Lanka has whitewashed the world champions Australia, who came into the series being ranked as the No.1 Test team.

Kaushal Silva – 5/10

After being continuously dismissed by the Australian spearhead Mitchell Starc quite a few times, he played a match-winning innings of 115 in the second innings of the final Test match, which helped the hosts to complete their clean sweep.

Dimuth Karunaratne – 2/10

Dimuth Karunaratne had a series to forget as he hardly finds any runs. With a high-score of 22, he managed to score just 41 runs from his 6 innings.

Kusal Perera – 4.5/10

Kusal Perera has got quite a few starts in the series but failed to carry on and get a big score against his name. However, his contributions were useful considering the low-scoring encounters in the first two Test matches.

Kusal Mendis – 7.5/10

With a match winning 176 at Pallakele in the first Test match, he sealed the match for the hosts and backed it up with a valuable 86 in the second Test at Galle. He is also the second leading run-scorer of the series.

Angelo Mathews – 5.5/10

Despite scoring over 100 runs in the second Test match, he doesn’t have a good time with the bat. However, his decisions on the field and field settings were second to none.

Dinesh Chandimal – 7/10

With 250 runs against his name, Dinesh Chandimal had a decent series. He top scored in the last match with 132 runs in the first innings, which saved the home side from an early collapse. He scored 43 in the second innings as Sri Lanka were in the urge pile on the lead and make the visitors bat on the 5th-day pitch.

Dhananjaya de Silva – 8.5/10

Undoubtedly, one of the future aspects of Sri Lankan cricket. There were a few concerns over the inexperienced players in the side, but this guy has stepped up to the occasion, finishing his debut international series as the highest run-scorer of the series (325 runs).

Rangana Herath – 9.5/10

Player of the series, Rangana Herath had spun the web around the Australians as they world champions found no answer to his gentle left-arm spin. Apart from being the leading wicket-taker with 28 wickets, he had also scored 119 runs batting down the order.

Suranga Lakmal – 2/10

The pace bowler doesn’t have much to do as he played only one match in the series. However, he picked a crucial wicket of Shaun Marsh in the match, who was batting on 130 and thereby breaking the 246-run partnership between Marsh and the Australian skipper Steve Smith.
