Sri Lanka women’s team will tour Pakistan for three ODIs and as many T20Is in May-June. The Sri Lankan team has not played a 50-over game since October 2019 and therefore, this will be a boost for them to do good and make it count for the ICC Women’s Championship.

They have only played the Commonwealth Qualifiers that were held earlier this year. Meanwhile, their Pakistan tour was scheduled last year but had to be stopped owing to changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) set-up.

The Sri Lankan team will land in Karachi on May 19, with the T20Is scheduled between May 24 to 28. The three-match T20I series will be followed by an equal number of ODIs, set to take place between June 1 to 5. The ODI series will account for the ICC Women’s Championship.

This series will also mark the first series of the third edition of the ICC Women’s Championship cycle for the period of 2022-25. Before it commences, 26 Pakistani players will be involved in an 11-day camp. The series will also be Pakistan’s first home series in almost four years.

We are very excited to welcome Sri Lanka: Bismah Maroof

The COVID-19 rules will be in place for all the players, team management, and match officials, as they will have to undergo a test as soon as they arrive in Pakistan. Any person testing positive for the virus will be quarantined for a period of five days.

“It is a great privilege for us to play the ICC Women’s Championship on our home soil and the side is very excited to welcome Sri Lanka. This edition provides us an opportunity to start fresh and make the most of the home advantage,” Bismah Maroof told ESPNcricinfo.

“I am sure the team will perform to their fullest potential and the Pakistan cricket fans, who have extended us great support, will get to see better and consistent results,” she added.

After the conclusion of the home series, Pakistan team will fly to Ireland for a tri-nation T20I series between Pakistan, Ireland, and Australia. The tri-nation series will be followed by the eight-team Commonwealth Games that is set to happen in Birmingham, England.
