After touching upon some conventional and non-conventional cricket centers in India action moves to the Green Park in Kanpur, the first Twenty20I of the three-match series between India and England will be played in Kanpur and the city is already buzzing with excitement. Both the teams have already arrived and so have the reporters. One of the BBC’s reporters noticed something unusual on the manual scoreboard at the Stadium.

Along with the high-tech visual giant screens that display the scores during matches, most stadiums in India still have the less attractive manual scoreboards where the scores are changed by men stationed behind holding number cards. With the game scheduled on January 26, the ground staff just has two days in hand to get things in line for the big day and they seem to be working harder than they are used to.

The scoreboard at the Green Park either has a weird suggestion for both the teams in terms of the batting order they should opt for or more certainly someone messed up the only job they had. One look at the England batting order and one would realize not everything would be right for World T20, 2016 runners up if pacers Jake Ball and Chris Jordan were to bat at No. 4 and 5.

The English order set up on the score card was- Moeen Ali, Liam Dawson, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Sam Billings, Jake Ball, Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett, Jos Buttler, Tymal Mills, Ben Stokes and Alex Hales.

Ravichandran Ashwin to open the batting for India? We’d agree not everything is in place for the Men in Blue as far as the opening slot is considered but would Ashwin accompany Rahul to take strike right at the start of the innings?

The Indian batting order as placed on the manual scoreboard at the Green Park had names in this order- Lokesh Rahul, R Ashwin, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Mandeep Singh.
