Australian cricketer Megan Schutt is all set to marry her partner after the same-sex marriage was approved in the country. The people of Australia supported gay marriage in the postal survey which will now be legalised this year in the Parliament. The cricketer herself took to social media to celebrate the news and posted an image with the love of her life. However, the Government has promised to allow a bill creating marriage equality to be considered in the Parliament.

Megan, 24, is the premier fast bowler of the Australian Women’s team and is currently busy playing the Ashes series against England Women’s team. She made her debut for the country at a very early age of 19 in December 2012. Since then she has represented Australia in 43 ODIs, 27 T20Is and 3 Test matches. She has ruled the opposition batters with 62 wickets in One-Day Internationals and 23 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Schutt has also scalped nine wickets in the whites for her country and is looking forward to a fruitful career ahead.

Schutt will marry Jess Holyoake

Megan Schutt was extremely happy after the country voted ‘YES’ for the same-sex marriage and could not stop herself from posting an image with her partner Jess Holyoake on Twitter. She also announced that they would be planning a wedding soon. Her message for the followers was, “It’s a #YES now to plan a wedding Can’t wait to marry the love of my life #ssm #lovewins #marriageequality.”

Sixty-two percent of the registered voters who responded to the survey favoured the reform according to Australian Bureau of Statistics. Her fans were also very happy for the cricketer and congratulated her after winning the battle eventually. The bill for marriage equality will now be considered in the two-week final session of Australian Parliament that is due to end on December 7.
