England has turned out to be one of the best limited-overs sides since 2015 World Cup debacle. While they have changed the approach with the bat, the emergence of the bowlers has also played a crucial part in it. The players’ participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has played a crucial role in it and it was no surprise when their gun player Joe Root put his name up in the auction this year. However, another star England player has expressed his wish to play in the cash-rich league.

The Brits were recently involved in the three-match T20I series against India and lost it to the visitors in a close contest. Many believe that the exposure which IPL gives has helped the Indian youngster a lot. This year also saw a drastic increase in the number of England players ply their trade in the T20 tournament.

Who is the player?

Adil Rashid, in his column for Sky Sports, has expressed his desire in the T20 extravaganza and believes that it will help him improve his bowling. However, he was also satisfied with his performance in the recent T20Is against the Men in Blue.

“The IPL is something I’d like to play in one day, but that’s something for the future. I thought the Indian batsmen picked me well during the T20 series – the googly or whatever variation – but I was still pleased with how I bowled in the series, and in the T20 against Australia at Edgbaston,” he wrote.

He was also of the opinion that England needs to play more against the teams like India to improve going forward in the shorter formats. “They are one of the best T20 sides in the world – they have the best domestic competition in the world in the IPL, and the best players. The more we play against these big teams, like India, the better we will get as well,” he further added.
