The matches are now shorter so are the boundaries, the batsmen are fiercer and the bowlers are smarter – this is the age of Twenty-20 cricket. Though tests are and will remain the most competitive and gripping form of cricket but T20 cricket has flown in a lot of fans, charm and ‘that’ entertainment in the game of cricket. More and more people are attracted to this shortest format of the game and lucrative T20 league cricket has sparked more interest from players and fan growth. The 83000+ crowd present at the MCG for the Melbourne derby in the Big Bash League just recently reflects the true portrait and the changing trends in world cricket.
As the popularity of this form of the game is increasing day in and day out, fans need to know how their teams fair in the format. Everyone wants their teams to dominate the sport and fill the trophy rooms for them. Ultimately, the winner could only be one and someone has to lose. Chennai Super Kings from the Indian Premier League has won the most T20s since its inception but many seldom talk about the teams which have lost the most. In the following table, all the teams which have played ICC recognized T20 cricket are arranged such that the team with the lowest win percentage is ranked first, then the second lowest ranked second and so on.
In order to get a clear depiction, the teams which have played 20 or more matches only were included. The win % is calculated by dividing the number of wins by the team plus half the matches tied to the total number of matches played. [i.e. (Wins + 0.5 Ties)/Total Matches). The matches with no result were excluded. The teams are ranked as the team with lowest win % first and so on.

The table clearly shows that Quetta Bears from the Pakistan domestic circuit has the Worst Win % from all the teams in the world that have played official recognized T20s (minimum qualification: 20 matches). However, the team is not active anymore and has been retired by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The team played under the name of Quetta Region in 2015. The teams at 5, 7, 9 and 13 on this list are either suspended or retired and do not play twenty-20s anymore for different reasons. Bermuda, which played in the 2007 World Cup, has the second worst win percentage in T20s followed by Uganda.
Zimbabwe, a test nation and with more developed cricket infrastructure, features way high on this table (# 4), winning only 20% of their games. The team has the worst win percentage in all the teams playing T20 if the inactive teams are removed and the qualification is set at 30 games instead of 20 games.
