One of the most successful bowlers in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Amit Mishra went unsold in IPL 2022 mega auction but he continues to be a keen observer of the tournament. The veteran leg-spinner has been active on social media ever since the start of the season, regularly expressing his views over the happenings on the field.

He has also been grabbing headlines due to his witty and hilarious comments. On Friday (April 8), the 39-year-old made a cheeky remark about Chennai Super Kings, joking about their strategy to go for experienced players instead of youngsters. Notably, the likes of Moeen Ali, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, and Dwayne Bravo form the core of CSK’s current set-up and they are all above 33.

Amit Mishra left Twitterati in splits once again

In fact, the average age of the squad is over 30. Owing to the same, the four-time champions have been labeled as ‘Dad’s Army.’ Mishra highlighted the same fact when a fan requested him to join CSK. The veteran leg-spinner, who’s a 39-year-old, came up with a hilarious response that left the netizens in splits. “Sorry mate, Still two years younger for it,” wrote Mishra on the micro-blogging website.

Meanwhile, Mishra on Friday also lauded his former teammate and Gujarat Titans’ bowling coach Ashish Nehra amid GT’s unbeaten run in the competition. “Gujarat Titans are yet to be defeated this season. If they continue the same form, we might see other coaches also giving up laptops and picking up pen and paper like Nehra ji,” Mishra had said in his tweet.

Meanwhile, the first couple of weeks of IPL 2022 entertained the fans thoroughly as some mind-boggling encounters were on display. The points table also looks pretty tangled and is only expected to get even more complex. While new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are up and running, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings suffered defeats in their first three games apiece.
