It will be a clash of the bottom two teams in the 28th match of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns against Rajasthan Royals (RR). Hyderabad is placed at the last position on the points table with just one win from six matches while RR is positioned at the seventh spot with two wins from six fixtures.

It is the same old story for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 too as they flattened in the middle after a promising start in the tournament. Though the team isn’t winning games, they are unlikely to make any key changes in their Playing XI as they have hardly any bench strength left after many of their overseas players pulled out for the Championship.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended up on the wrong side of the result in the match against Mumbai Indians. However, one of the biggest positives for the team was a decent performance by their top-order including the likes of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Since the start of the T20 Championship, Royals were grappling with its top-order issues and powerplay concerns.

Finally, in the game against the defending champions, Jos Buttler lived up to his reputation and showed a glimpse of his batting abilities as he played a knock of 41 runs off 32 balls. RR will be now be hoping that the batsman continues his good form and converts the good start into a big knock. The same was the case with another opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal too as he marched back to the pavilion after adding 32 runs to the scoreboard in 20 deliveries.

Middle Order (Sanju Samson (C and WK), Shivam Dube, David Miller)

RR skipper Sanju Samson is known for his attractive strokeplay and his power-hitting abilities. Since, the past two games, the batter has brought a change in his conduct with the willow as he is playing sensible knocks and isn’t throwing his wicket away. With the scores of not 42 off 41 and 42 off 27 against KKR and MI respectively, the newly-appointed skipper looks in fine form.

South Africa’s left-handed batsman David Miller impressed in his first game in IPL 2021 against DC as he played a match-defining knock of 62 runs. However, since then, the left-hander has majorly failed to produce any match-defining knocks for his team. Thus, RR will hope that the batter regains his form soon and starts making a positive contribution to the scoreboard.

Shivam Dube, who comes to bat at Number 4, has performed decently in IPL 2021 thus far. While a big knock is still awaited from the 27-year-old, he has been making small contributions to the batting innings of Rajasthan Royals.

All-Rounders (Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris)

Rajasthan Royals are unlikely to mess with their all-rounders as all the three players, including Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, and Chris Morris have essayed their role well. While RR will hope for better performance both with the bat and ball from Riyan and Tewatia, Morris is completely justifying his hefty paycheque.

The South African speedster has emerged as the go-to bowler for skipper Sanju Samson and has always returned with crucial wickets. The all-rounder has also made a winning contribution with the willow wherever he has gotten a chance to do so.

Bowlers (Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman)

The young Chetan Sakariya has been a revelation for the Rajasthan Royals in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is the most successful bowler for the franchise in terms of the economy rate. Thus far, in six IPL matches, Chetan has picked seven wickets at an economy rate of 8 and an average of 26.29.

Apart from Chetan, the other two spinners who are likely to form a  RR’s bowling attack are Jaydev Unadkat and Mustafizur Rahman. While Jaydev has bowled decent spells especially with the new ball, Rahman is also producing good spells
