Suniel Shetty and Zaheer Khan meet in Mumbai, reports of a new league surfaces the media

Cricket and Bollywood are arguably the two most popular professions in India. The actors and the cricketers enjoy the celebrity status of the highest order and the magnitude of their popularity knows no bounds in the country. Time and again, when the two combine together, the energy levels soars to a new high and media starts brewing up with new hopes of something special.

Recently, former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan was seen at Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty’s office in Andheri, Mumbai. While many might speculate that this could have been a casual meeting between the two celebrities, there are other reports that suggest that the meeting was about a new venture that the two celebrities are planning to roll out.

As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Suniel Shetty and Zaheer Khan are planning to start a cricket league of their own. There are no confirmed reports of the same, but apparently, the planning is pretty much under way. Suniel Shetty does feel that it is ‘too early to comment on the issue’, but the paparazzi is smart enough to read between the lines.

Idea behind the league?

The idea or the pattern of the league remains a mystery, but one could safely assume that the league could have a combination of Bollywood stars and cricketers. Well, if this happens, then this will not be the first instance of a league based on these lines. Earlier, the leagues like Celebrity Cricket League and Box Cricket League has seen celebrities of the entertainment industry indulge in the game of cricket.

Suniel Shetty, a very talented batsman himself, has also been a part of these competitions before. On the other hand, Zaheer Khan’s connection to the Bollywood industry is not a new one either. He recently got hitched to Bollywood diva Sagarika Ghatge and has a lot of friends from the industry.

As of now, one could only wait and see what comes next from these two gentlemen. If the league indeed rolls out on the floor, the fans will be in for some visual treat for sure!
