Sunrisers coach Tom Moody confirms availability of Mustafizur Rahman

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are looking like the team to beat in the IPL this year. The defending champions have started off their campaign with two wins. A lot of questions have been raised over the availability of their star bowler Mustafizur Rahman. Rahman was the most economical bowler for the Sunrisers in the previous edition of the tournament. He was instrumental in guiding the team to the title triumph.

However, he has not featured for the defending champions in the T20 league this year till now. This was because he was on the national duty for Bangladesh in their series in Sri Lanka. After the conclusion of the tour, there were rumors about Mustafizur Rahman skipping the IPL this year or at least taking some time off before joining the roster for SRH.

Now, the Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody has confirmed that the ace Bangladeshi bowler is arriving shortly. He will also be available for selection for the next fixture for the Hyderabad franchise. SRH will be taking on the Mumbai Indians in their first away game this season on April 12. They have had a good run at home this season but their fortunes on away track remains to be seen.

As per the quotes in Times of India, Tom Moody noted that he is most likely to be in the scheme of things for selection. The only thing that can keep him out is his match fitness. Tom Moody quoted, “He is arriving tonight and is available for selection. Who he will replace will not be decided until tomorrow. But more than likely he is fit and available unless something happens overnight,” the SRH coach quoted.

Talking about his performances last year, Mustafizur Rahman had been the prime bowler for the SRH side along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He had picked 17 wickets in the IPL 2016 at an economy as low as 6.90.
