The fifth season of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been a big and successful tournament so far. It also promises to be greatly entertaining in the upcoming matches of the tournament. Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir has now joined Sylhet Sixers for the fifth edition. The Pakistani bowler who has a unique action will join his national team-mate, Babar Azam. The T20 specialist will also enjoy the guidance of former Pakistan cricketer and coach Waqar Younis, who is the mentor of the team.

The Sixers had a great start to the tournament as they won their first 3 games in the tournament, quite easily. It is also to be noted that the credit of those wins largely goes to Sri Lanka‘s ODI skipper Upul Tharanga, who scored fifties in each of the three matches. But after the first round of matches, the Sixers lost their next five matches and are currently placed fifth on the points table.

Tanvir joins the Sixers

Tanvir, who has also represented the Comilla Victorians before, is now part of the Sylhet Sixers for BPL 2017. He started his training from Sunday morning itself at the M.A. Aziz stadium in Chittagong. The Nasir Hossain-led side needs to explore their plans and strategies for the rest of the tournament in order to gain the lost momentum. The skipper would think that the new member in Tanvir will add some much-needed firepower to their bowling attack.

The Sylhet Sixers will now face the Rangpur Riders on 28th November and this will be their ninth match in the tournament. They need to assess their strengths and all the players on the side need to bring out their best in the upcoming matches of the league. The skipper and the team management would surely want the team to perform like they did at the start of the BPL 2017 when they were looking like a bunch of strong contenders in the contest.
