Maratha Arabians had two contrasting outings on Saturday in the space of four hours that resulted in them not making it to the final. In the Eliminator game, the Arabians thumped Bengal Tigers in the 136-run chase as Alex Hales came up with a record T10 individual score of an unbeaten 87. In the second qualifier played shortly after the Eliminator, they were outplayed by the Northern Warriors to be knocked out. Maratha could only make 72/8 in their 10 overs and let it be chased down in only five overs.

They will be taking on the Bengal Tigers once again as both the teams face off to claim the 3rd position. The Maratha Arabians were on the top on both the occasions against Bengal whom they defeated while chasing. The Bengal Tigers are missing the services of Jason Roy at the top in the recent matches. The Marathas, on the other hand, might miss a few players for this place-off game if they decide to fly back to South Africa for the MSL.

Match Details:

The 3rd place play-off game of the T10 League will be played between Bengal Tigers and Maratha Arabians at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

The match starts at 5:45 PM local time (1:45 PM GMT) (7:15 PM IST).

Pitch Condition/Report:

High scoring finish is expected for the final day of this tournament like in most of the games over the last couple of days.

Squads:

Bengal Tigers:

Sam Billings, Sunil Narine, Jason Roy, Luke Wright, Zaheer Khan, Morne Morkel, Aamer Yamin, Mohammad Nabi, Riki Wessels, Sherfane Rutherford, Kevon Cooper, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rayad Emrit, Ali Khan, Chirag Suri, Muhammad Usman.

Maratha Arabians:

Dwayne Bravo (C), Rashid Khan, Kamran Akmal, Alex Hales, James Faulkner, James Vince, S Badrinath, Brendan Taylor, Adam Lyth, Roelof van der Merwe, Najibullah Zadran, Richard Gleeson, Hazratullah Zazai, Amir Hayat, Zahoor Khan.

Probable XI:

Bengal Tigers:

Sam Billings (C), Rikki Wessels, Luke Wright, Sunil Narine, Chirag Suri, Mohammad Nabi, Sherfane Rutherford, Aamer Yamin, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Kevon Cooper, Morne Morkel.

Maratha Arabians:

Dwayne Bravo (C), Hazratullah Zazai, Alex Hales, Najibullah Zadran, S Badrinath/Brendan Taylor, Rashid Khan, James Faulkner, Kamran Akmal, Roelof van der Merwe, Richard Gleeson, Zahoor Khan.

Power Picks:

Najibullah Zadran failed in both the matches on Saturday after some impactful knocks that led them to finish in the top four. He will be crucial for the Maratha to finish at No.3. Rikki Wessels can be dangerous if he gets to bat in the early overs.

Best Playing XI:

Rikki Wessels, Alex Hales, Hazratullah Zazai, Sherfane Rutherford, Najibullah Zadran, Dwayne Bravo, Mohammad Nabi, Sunil Narine, Roelof van der Merwe, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Richard Gleeson.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Mohammad Nabi has been consistent over the last couple of games and should be rewarded with one of the multipliers. Sunil Narine can be the other multiplier more preferably as captain. Considering Alex Hales as captain or vice-captain isn’t a bad option either.

Expert Advice:

It will be a better option not to pick players who are part of the MSL for this game. Instead of playing this game, they might prefer to play or fly early for the South African league. In the Elimination final, Brendan Taylor was retired hurt and there is no injury update.

Probable Winners:

Maratha Arabians are expected to make it 3-0 against the Bengal Tigers in this T10 league.
