We’ve had eight games that were played on the thirteenth day of the T20 Blast. However, most of these games have had a rain interruption. Two of the eight games had to be abandoned midway due to rain. One of these games was shortened.

There were some nail-biting games which provided some amazing entertainment to the fans. While Lancashire currently tops the points table in the North group, it is Kent which is at the top in the South group. Here is how things progressed on the thirteenth day of the Vitality T20 Blast.

Warwickshire vs Northamptonshire – North Group

This game was one heck of a match, probably the best this season. It left the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the 40 overs. Northamptonshire was put into bat first by Warwickshire. With the help of a blistering knock from Richard Levi, they put up a massive total on the board. Although he couldn’t get to his century, Levi remained not out on 95 which came off 52 balls. Joshua Cobb scored 61 off 35 balls taking the team’s total to 231/5 in 20 overs.

It seemed as if this was going to be Northamptonshire’s game but Ian Bell had other plans. Bell, despite losing wickets at the other end stayed positive to take his team close. He scored a mindboggling 131 off 62 balls. But, he got out in the 20th over with his team 10 runs short of the target. However, his teammates ensured that they get close to the target. Warwickshire needed 2 runs off the last 2 balls. But, Nathan Buck bowled brilliantly to pick a wicket off the last second ball. He only conceded one run of the last ball as the game ended up in a draw.

Brief Scores:

NOR: 231/5 in 20 overs (R Levi 95*, J Cobb 61, Aaron Thomason 3/55)

WARKS: 231/5 in 20 overs (Ian Bell 131, Adam Hose 64, Nathan Buck 3/38)

Lancashire vs Yorkshire – North Group

This was another nail-biting game. Because of the rain interruption, the game was reduced to 14 overs per side. Yorkshire won the toss and opted to bowl first. Liam Livingstone continued his great form in the tournament. He scored 79 off just 37 balls. With the help of a 20-ball 42 from A Lilley and a 17-ball 36 from Jordan Clark, Lancashire posted a massive 176 runs on the board in 14 overs.

Adam Lyth provided the ideal start for Yorkshire in the chase. He scored 60 off just 26 balls. Joe Root, who joined the team played a brilliant knock. He remained unbeaten on 51 which came off 22 balls. Yorkshire needed 17 runs in the last over to win the game. However, they only managed to get 15 falling short by 1 run. Root scored 13 runs off the first five balls. Kane Williamson needed to hit a boundary off the last ball but only managed to get two runs there.
