When the second edition of the T20 Mumbai League started a few days ago, there was a lot of buzz around Arjun Tendulkar. This was his first big tournament and with a lot of focus on the competition, all eyes were going to be on Arjun. Having said that, Vinod Kambli‘s presence in the dugout must have eased out his nerves and the all-rounder looks well settled in terms of nerves now.

After showing the glimpse of what he can do, in the earlier matches, Arjun Tendulkar, playing for Aakash Tigers MWS impressed everyone with his variations against the North Mumbai Panthers. He opened the bowling for his team and was all over the place in the first over conceding 13 runs.

Interestingly, the skipper didn’t bowl him then and brought right back at the death. When runs were of paramount importance, the left-arm pacer dished out his best performance so far to restrict the opponents to a decent total.

Arjun Tendulkar scalped three wickets in his second spell bowling two of the last five overs. He stepped up to the challenge big time to send back the likes of Sairaj Patil, Sumit Dhekale and Karan Nande who could’ve hurt his team by scoring quickly. The junior Tendulkar finished with the figures of 3/27 in his three overs and one felt he should’ve bowled his full quota.

Arjun shines with the bat as well

High on confidence, Arjun Tendulkar was sent to open the batting for the second time this season and the southpaw stroked a fluent 28. He started off well initially smashing four boundaries but then fell off the radar a bit as pressure increased from the other end. There was a chance for him to carry the innings on his shoulders but the 19-year-old will learn as he plays more.

He is one of the better all-rounders this season in the T20 Mumbai League scoring 87 runs with the bat and has also picked four wickets with the ball. The fans will be hoping for him to continue in the same vein for the rest of the season.
