The 2nd match on the inaugural day of the T20 Mumbai League 2019 will see ARCS Andheri take on Sobo Supersonics. The ARCS represent the North-West of Mumbai comprising of Dindoshi, Jogeshwari East, Versova, Goregaon, Andheri West and Andheri East. Meanwhile, the Sobo Supersonics franchise represents the South of Mumbai comprising of Colaba, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Worli, Sewri and Mumbadevi.

ARCS Andheri

Shubham Ranjane was the leading scorer for Andheri last year and the franchise has good reason to retain him. Likewise, Tushar Deshpande did well in the inaugural season and finds himself donning the team’s colours once again this year.

Iqbal Abdullah, who led the side last year, has been picked up yet again. Also, Vineet Sinha will make a second successive appearance for the franchise. Andheri finished at the bottom of the table last yet. Therefore, this time around, they have bolstered their squad by inducting fresh blood in the form of Gaurav Jathar, Praful Waghela and Kevin Almeida.

Speaking about the team, Dr P. V. Shetty, the team owner said, “This time I am happy with our squad strength and we have a good, complete team. We’ve changed a lot of our support staff and got a few new players”.

Sobo Supersonics

The Supersonics made the playoffs cut last year and this time, they’re banking on a blend of youth and experience to take them a step further.

Opener Jay Bista and all-rounder Dhrumil Matkar have been retained by the franchise. And in the auctions, they bought back Badrey Alam and Rohan Raje. The former was the joint leading wicket-taker from last year while Raje is a star in the local circuit.

As for the experience, the franchise picked up Yogesh Takawale and Parag Khanapurkar, while Hersh Tank will bolster their batting unit.
