Australia will have everything to play for as they take on West Indies in their last Super 12 game of the T20 World Cup 2021. The encounter will take place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday (November 6). Having won three of their first four games, the Aussies are second in the Group 1 points table and a win in this clash would bring them close to a place in the knock-out stage.
However, they also need to keep an eye on the margin of the victory as South Africa are also in the hunt to make a place in the final four. As far as West Indies are concerned, this campaign has been nothing but horrendous for them. Despite having several prominent players in the ranks, the Men in Maroon lost three of their first four games, getting officially knocked out of the competition.
Hence, the two-time champions have nothing put pride to play for. All these factors make Australia firm favourites for this fixture. However, as the saying goes, cricket is a game of numerous uncertainties. Moreover, the West Indies line-up is studded with T20 stalwarts. Hence, an exciting contest might be on the cards.
