The Indian side is currently involved in its 3rd Super 12 encounter of the 2021 T20 World Cup against the Afghanistan side. And, several calculations will be going on in both the Indian as well as the Afghanistan camps regarding the qualification scenarios for both sides.

Batting first, the Indian side posted a gargantuan total of 210/2 on the board. The Indian batsmen absolutely decimated the Afghanistan bowlers with the willow in hand. The Indian openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma put on a sensational partnership of 140 runs for the opening wicket off just 14.4 overs to lay the foundation for a massive total.

After that, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant applied the finish touches to propel India past the 200-run mark. So, what are the qualification scenarios for both India and Afghanistan?

Qualification scenarios for India and Afghanistan

Now, if Afghanistan score 120, and India beat their opponents by 90 runs, it would mean that India’s Net Run Rate (NRR) will be +0.50, while Afghanistan’s NRR will be +1.20. If the Mohammad Nabi-led outfit manages to post 140, then India’s NRR will come down to +0.1, while Afghanistan’s will move to +1.40.
