Blast Finals Day to take place on September 14
The 2023 T20 Blast, also called the ‘Vitality Blast’ due to the tournament's sponsorship, marks its 21st season run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The competition is scheduled to kickstart on May 20, with the finals to be played on July 15 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. The league features teams from various English counties divided into two groups known as North Division and South Division.
These groups consist of nine teams each thereby accounting for 18 participants in total, who will compete for the prestigious title. Birmingham Bears, Derbyshire Falcons, Durham, Lancashire Lightning, Leicestershire Foxes, Northants Steelbacks, Notts Outlaws, Worcestershire Rapids, Yorkshire Vikings are part of the North Division. On the other hand, Essex Eagles, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Hampshire Hawks, Kent Spitfires, Middlesex, Somerset, Surrey, Sussex Sharks make up the South Division in the T20 Blast.
The Hampshire Hawks are the reigning champions as they triumphed over Lancashire Lightning in the summit clash of the 2022 edition. In doing so, the Hawks clinched their record-equalling third title, joint-most with Leicestershire Foxes in the history of the top-tier league.
