T20 Blast 2023 Schedule
The T20 Blast is underway with 18 first-class county teams playing for the prestigious title backed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The 21st edition of the T20 Blast kickstarted on May 20, with the finals to be played at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 15. Notably, both semi-final fixtures and the summit clash will be played on the same day (July 15) in Birmingham.
Much like the previous season, the 18 teams are categorised into two groups called the North and South Divisions. Each county will play seven home fixtures and as many away games. Eventually the top four teams of each of the pools will progress to the quarter-finals of the top-tier league.
In the quarter-finals, the winners of the North Division will play the fourth-placed team in the South Division and vice-versa. Likewise, the second-placed county in the North Division will cross swords with the third-placed team in the South Division and so on.
In 2022, Hampshire Hawks clinched their record third title after beating Lancashire Lightning by just one run to claim the competition in the thrilling final. With this, the defending champions got on level terms with Leicestershire Foxes for the most number of titles (three) in the history of the T20 Blast.
