Taapsee Pannu starrer Mithali Raj's biopic 'Shabaash Mithu' set to release on July 15

Veteran batter and skipper of the Indian side Mithali Raj on April 29 (Friday) announced the release date of her biopic movie titled ‘Shabaash Mithu’. Mithali has been a regular feature of the Indian squad since she made her ODI debut back in 1999 and has been providing some valuable knocks for her side.

The movie is slated to be released on 15th July 2022 and prominent actress Tapsee Pannu will be playing Mithali in the movie titled “Shabaash Mithu”. It may be noted that another biopic on veteran Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami is also expected to hit the cinemas on 13th December this year. The biopic on Jhulan is titled “Chakda Express” and actress Anushka Sharma is playing the lead role in the movie.

Mithali along with announcing the release date penned a heart-touching note

“There is nothing more powerful than a girl with a dream! This is a story of one such girl who chased her dream with a bat and changed the “Gentleman’s Game” forever… #ShabaashMithu The Unheard Story Of Women In Blue will be in cinemas on 15th July 2022,” Mithali tweeted along with the poster of the movie.

Mithali Raj has represented India in 232 WODI matches in which she has amassed a total of 7805 runs with an excellent average of 50.68. The right-handed-batter has stroked 64 half-centuries and seven hundred in the 50-over format. She has also scalped a total of eight wickets in the 50-over format. Mithali has also represented her country in 89 T20I and 12 Test matches scoring 2364 and 699 runs respectively.

The veteran batter holds several records for India including being the youngest Indian cricketer to score a fifty during the 2000 Women’s World Cup against South Africa. Recently, she bagged another record as she became the oldest Indian cricketer to make a half-century in World Cup. The 39-year-old achieved this landmark during a group stage encounter of the 2022 Women’s World Cup against South Africa on March 27.
