India tour of Bangladesh was under the clouds of uncertainty after their players went on a strike against the board. But, on 23rd October they called off the protest and look set to take the field again. Tigers are scheduled to play T20I and Test series against Men in Blue. There are reports that they will be without the services of their star opener for a major part of the series.

Tamim Iqbal had already taken time off from cricket after Sri Lanka‘s tour where he led the team, and after that, destructive opener made himself unavailable for the selections against Afghanistan. Now, Tamim is ready to make his way back into the squad but he is likely to miss a part of the series because he and his wife are expecting their second child in the near future.

30-year-old is expected to get the reports related to his wife’s health shortly in the upcoming weeks and his return depends on the doctor’s reports. On Thursday, BCB chairman gave the information over the case of Tamim Iqbal to the media, We haven’t decided anything as yet in this regard [about giving permission to Tamim]. Give us some time we still have a few more days to think,” Akram Khan said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

However, Bangladesh team is well prepared with Imrul Kayes who can open the innings for the team in the absence of Tamim. BCB have asked Imrul not to take part in the next part of the ongoing National Cricket League starting from Saturday.
