Team India dons a new look for the World Cup 2015: Team India’s kit sponsor Nike today unveiled the teams new kit for the ODI matches. India will wear this new design for the upcoming ODI tri-series and the World cup 2015.
Nike says that each kit — jersey and bottoms — is made out of an average of 33 recycled plastic bottles and the new lightweight kit combines high performance innovation with sustainability. It also features Nike’s new Dri-FIT technology and Nike Pro Baselayer, which helps the fabric to regulate a player’s body temperature through increased venting.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that,” 2015 is a massive year for Team India as the best teams in the world compete for cricket’s greatest prize. The Team India jersey truly symbolises the passion for cricket in our nation. Wearing this jersey is a matter of pride for every player.”
BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel added that,” This is the passion of a billion hearts, the colour that unites the entire nation. We are pleased that Nike has used its global expertise to adopt innovative technologies from different sports and craft them to the specific needs of Team India players.”
Player like R.Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Ajinkya Rahane were present along with captain Dhoni wearing the new kit. Nike also launched two new footwear for cricketers, Nike LunarDominate (batting) and Nike LunarAccelerate (bowling).
