All the three branches of the Indian armed forces, the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy arrange a variety of shows, carnivals and other entertainment programmes to celebrate the day.

Kohli and Vijay punishing Sri Lanka

India, after winning the toss, lost the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara in the first session. But the duo of Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay has been amazing since then as the former especially has looked in no trouble whatsoever and is approaching yet another century in whites. Vijay too has been punishing the bad balls from the visitors as India look set to post a huge total on the first day itself.
