Team India is currently ranked 4th in the ICC One Day International (ODI) rankings. Mid-June the Men in Blue travel across to Zimbabwe for a 3-match ODI series and a couple of T20Is.

At the moment, Australia is the top-ranked ODI side in the world with 124 rating points, followed by New Zealand with 113 rating points and South Africa with 112. Even if India whitewashes Zimbabwe in the series, they will gain one point and move to 110 rating points which is still 2 points behind the 3rd ranked South Africa.

If India wins the series 2-1, then they will lose one point and the 11th ranked Zimbabwe will get one point and move from 47 to 48 rating points. Currently, India holds a 5-point lead over 5th ranked Sri Lanka.

Tri-series in West Indies:

West Indies at the no.8 spot just have a one point lead over Pakistan and they will be looking to increase the lead as they host a tri-series against the no.1 ranked Australia and no.3 ranked South Africa. Every West Indies win over Australia or South Africa will earn them valuable points.

If Australia remains unbeaten in the series, they will gain 5 points and will move onto 129 points and strengthen their no.1 spot. If South Africa remains unbeaten in the series, they will attain 6 points and will end up with 118 points over the second-ranked New Zealand. If the hosts, West Indies win all their matches in the series, they will get a huge 18 points boost, which will move them to the top 5 in ICC ODI rankings.

The tri-series will begin from June 3, where the host West Indies will play against South Africa.
