5. Punjab Kings – Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Moises Henriques
Jhye Richardson, who was bought at an alarming price of INR 14 Crores has so far turned out to be a gloomy proposition for PBKS. The speedster was seen getting highly grappled especially when the batters took his bowling for cleaners. By only scalping mere three wickets from his all outings along with leaking runs at an economy of over 10, Jhye Richardson might surely face a discard from the PBKS franchise.
Even Jhye Richardson’s other companion Riley Meredith would face an ordeal regarding his second stint with the PBKS franchise. By getting bagged at a price tag of INR 8 Crores, Meredith is yet to unveil himself in the IPL and so far has been very reasonable with his business. However, with Mohammad Shami and Chris Jordan already being two senior pacers present to the team, Meredith’s expensive proposition will eventually find a termination shortly.
Overall, it’s mainly because of the complex mini-auction dynamics that these above cricketers of PBKS including Moises Henriques have bagged some towering deals but in reality, even a price correction in the next auction wouldn’t tempt Punjab to rebuy them further.
