<strong>Teams with most 200 Plus scores in IPL:</strong> Scoring 200 in a T20 innings is an extremely difficult job for the teams around the world. But in batsmen friendly pitches in India which is aided by relatively shorter boundaries, it is quite achievable. Still, the Indian Premier League teams are finding it difficult to cross the 200 mark on a consistent basis. The tournament’s eighth edition is currently going on and so far there were only 45 instances where a team has scored over 200 in an innings.

Deccan Chargers are no more in the IPL as the Deccan Chronicle holdings owned franchise was sold to Sun Network and was named Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the 2013 edition. Former Champions Chargers have managed to cross the 200 run mark only once in IPL when they scored 214-5 against Rajasthan Royals in their first season. In spite of having a better highest total than Sunrisers, Chargers are listed at the last because they are no more a part of IPL.

IPL’s most underperforming side Delhi Daredevils is at the seventh spot in the list of teams with most number of 200+ totals in IPL. They have did it only twice in the eight seasons of IPL. Their highest score is 231-4 in 2012 against Kings XI Punjab in 2011.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is eighth in the list as they scored 200+ runs thrice in IPL. One instance came against Kings XI Punjab in the 2014 edition as they scored 205-5 in 20 overs and went on to lose the match as well. And another against Rajasthan Royals in the 2015 edition as they scored 201/4 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. The third one came in the 2016 edition, the final game as they scored 208 runs and went on to win the trophy.

Defending IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders take the sixth position in the list of teams with most 200+ totals in IPL. Kolkata have achieved it 4 times in their history. They are also the first team to core 200 in IPL when they scored 222-3 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy stadium in IPL’s first ever match. The match is best remembered for Brendon McCullum’s 158. They are also the first team to chase down 200 in the finals, which they did in 2014.

The two-time Champions League winners and one time IPL Champions Mumbai Indians are in fifth in the list of teams with most number of 200+ totals in IPL. Mumbai Indians, with a strong batting line up has crossed the 200 run mark five times in their IPL history. Their highest ever score in IPL is 218/7 that came against Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla in 2010, which was also the debut match for Kieron Pollard. Mumbai are currently are 1 ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore with 6 scores of 200+ plus.

Former Champions Rajasthan Royals at the third place in the list might come as a surprise to many. But the inaugural Champions have crossed the 200 run mark six times in IPL. What’s more surprising is the fact that, Royals have crossed 200 thrice while chasing and have the highest second innings score in IPL. Their highest score in IPL is 223-5 in 20 overs, which they scored in their bid to chase down a target of 247 set by Chennai Super Kings. Royals also have the highest successful chase in IPL as they scored 217-7 in their chase of 215 against Deccan Chargers in 2008.

As mentioned above, Royal Challengers have ten 200+ totals in their IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore has the highest ever team total in IPL, in fact in all the Twenty20 games. Bangalore posted a mammoth 263-5 in 20 overs against Pune Warriors at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in 2013. This innings is most remembered for Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175 in a T20 game.

The underachievers in IPL are in the runners up in the list of teams with most number of 200+ scores in IPL. Kings XI Punjab has achieved this feat ten times in their IPL history. They are also the team with most number of 200+ scores while chasing as they have scored over 200 four times while batting second. Among these 10 instances, 4 of them were scored in 2014 when their batting line up strengthened with the likes of Glenn Maxwell, David Miller and Virender Sehwag. Their highest score in IPL is 232-2 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011.

<p>Defending IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders take the sixth position in the list of teams with most 200+ totals in IPL. Kolkata have achieved it 4 times in their history. They are also the first team to core 200 in IPL when they scored 222-3 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy stadium in IPL’s first ever match. The match is best remembered for Brendon McCullum’s 158. They are also the first team to chase down 200 in the finals, which they did in 2014.</p>

<p>The two-time Champions League winners and one time IPL Champions Mumbai Indians are in fifth in the list of teams with most number of 200+ totals in IPL. Mumbai Indians, with a strong batting line up has crossed the 200 run mark five times in their IPL history. Their highest ever score in IPL is 218/7 that came against Delhi Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla in 2010, which was also the debut match for Kieron Pollard. Mumbai are currently are 1 ahead of Royal Challengers Bangalore with 6 scores of 200+ plus.</p>

<p>Former Champions Rajasthan Royals at the third place in the list might come as a surprise to many. But the inaugural Champions have crossed the 200 run mark six times in IPL. What’s more surprising is the fact that, Royals have crossed 200 thrice while chasing and have the highest second innings score in IPL. Their highest score in IPL is 223-5 in 20 overs, which they scored in their bid to chase down a target of 247 set by Chennai Super Kings. Royals also have the highest successful chase in IPL as they scored 217-7 in their chase of 215 against Deccan Chargers in 2008.</p>

<p>As mentioned above, Royal Challengers have ten 200+ totals in their IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore has the highest ever team total in IPL, in fact in all the Twenty20 games. Bangalore posted a mammoth 263-5 in 20 overs against Pune Warriors at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium in 2013. This innings is most remembered for Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175 in a T20 game.</p>

<p>The underachievers in IPL are in the runners up in the list of teams with most number of 200+ scores in IPL. Kings XI Punjab has achieved this feat ten times in their IPL history. They are also the team with most number of 200+ scores while chasing as they have scored over 200 four times while batting second. Among these 10 instances, 4 of them were scored in 2014 when their batting line up strengthened with the likes of Glenn Maxwell, David Miller and Virender Sehwag. Their highest score in IPL is 232-2 in 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2011.</p>

<p>The most consistent team in the IPL tops the list of teams with most number of 200+ scores in IPL. With a batting heavy side, this doesn’t come as a surprise as the men in yellow have achieved this feat 12 times in their history. They are also the only team to register 240 twice in IPL. Their highest score in IPL is 246-5 against Rajasthan Royals at Chennai in 2010. With the kind of batting line up they possess, it won’t be a surprise if they cross the 200 mark many more times in IPL.</p>
