Test match specialists for India Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay are set to play for the India ‘A’ side as the latter faces the England Lions in Worcester on the 1st of August. While the India ‘A’ side has been quite impressive, it is also important many of the players in the Indian Test squad get some quality playing time before the five-match Test series begins.

Vinod Rai, the incumbent chief of the Committee of Administrators (COA) also confirmed the same stating that the Test specialists who stayed back to play the one-off Test against Afghanistan will now be boarding the flight to England where they will join up with Rahul Dravid and the India ‘A’ side. He also confirmed that seven to eight of the Test specialists will feature in the team.

“There will be a few seniors — among Test specialists, who will leave for UK in early June along with Rahul’s India A team. I can’t say how many — anything between two to four senior team players will be there from start of A tour. A few will play the Afghanistan Test match and then leave for England. But yes, at least 7 to 8 players, who are all Test team specialists will have to be in England in June,” Rai had said as per Sportstar.

High chances of India’s triumph in Test series

At the moment, it would seem as though the Indians have a good chance of winning the upcoming five-match Test series in England. In fact, the manner in which they absolutely demolished the Afghans in their debut Test match was indeed something that ensured that their chances are quite high, to say the least.

The Test series is set to begin in August, following the ODI series.
