Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner was singing praises for the star left-hander Yuvraj Singh as he decimated the opposition with an explosive 27-ball 62 at an unbelievable strike rate of 229.6. Yuvraj arrived at the crease after the dismissal of a well-set Shikhar Dhawan and took the game away from the reach of the opposition with 3 towering maximums and seven crisp boundaries.

Warner stated that it was the Yuvraj Singh he’s so accustomed to watching on TV, as it was an exhibition of splendid strokeplay couple with clean hitting. The Australian further added that Yuvraj Singh lived up to his reputation and would like to see him continue his devastating form, the entire season.

The Aussie stated in the post match conference as per the quotes on Indian Express, “That’s the Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) that I am used to watching on TV. It was superb stroke and clean hitting play from him, he backed himself. That’s the way that we know he can play and that’s the way that we want him to keep playing”

Furthermore, he went on to reveal that it would only take few more match winnings from the southpaw and the Hyderabad team will be on their way into the playoffs, which would increase their probability of defending their title. “If he can do that another five or six times in the tournament we will easily make the final and can also win” he added.

Additionally, Warner remarked about the amount of confidence, he and team derived from their opening fixture. Despite facing a lot of pressure before the start of the match, the team came out with flying colours by posting over 200 runs and bowling the opposition out within 20 overs.”

“A great start. We take a lot of confidence from the win. Before the game we had some pressure because we are defending champions. But the way we came out and played it was fantastic. Our middle-order and top-order were fantastic. 200 on this wicket was a good score.”

“While defending there were a few nerves in the middle but we needed just one wicket. It was a Fantastic all-around effort” he added.

The Hyderabad skipper also heaped praises and commended the efforts of the Afghan-international Rashid Khan. He was also impressed to see Dhawan playing his natural game as he scored a silky 40 off 31 balls, which comprised of 5 boundaries.

Sunrisers will host the Gujarat Lions in their next match on April 9.
