South African opener Quinton De Kock was one of the brightest young talents coming into the World Cup 2015 but could not show even a glimpse of his prowess in the entire World Cup as he only scored 145 runs in the eight matches he played in the tournament. Barring the half century (78) that De Kock scored against Sri Lanka in the quarter finals he failed to get going in any of the contests.

Ross Taylor was the one of the most experienced batsman in the talented Kiwi line-up but his experience did not prove any good for his side as he scored just 221 runs at a sluggish strike rate of 61. In the night of the final it was a great opportunity for him to not only revive himself but the struggling team, but after getting a good start (40) he got out and made things worse for New Zealand. 

5. Eoin Morgan (Captain)

South African opener Quinton De Kock was one of the brightest young talents coming into the World Cup 2015 but could not show even a glimpse of his prowess in the entire World Cup as he only scored 145 runs in the eight matches he played in the tournament. Barring the half century (78) that De Kock scored against Sri Lanka in the quarter finals he failed to get going in any of the contests.

Ross Taylor was the one of the most experienced batsman in the talented Kiwi line-up but his experience did not prove any good for his side as he scored just 221 runs at a sluggish strike rate of 61. In the night of the final it was a great opportunity for him to not only revive himself but the struggling team, but after getting a good start (40) he got out and made things worse for New Zealand. 
5. Eoin Morgan (Captain)

This World Cup 2015 proved to be a nightmare for the England skipper and his stats vindicate it. All Morgan could manage to score was 90 runs in the six matches that he played. 
6. Umar Akmal

The talented Umar Akmal was a vital player for Pakistan down the order but as it is often said in the cricket talent alone does not fetch you runs; it is the temperament that separates good players from average players and temperament is the thing where Umar Akmal lacks as he always threw his wicket away after a decent start. He scored only 164 runs in the seven matches in world cup 2015. 
7. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja was filling in the huge role that Yuvraj Singh played in the last World Cup for India. So expectations were huge from Jadeja and it seemed he crumbled under the burden of expectations. A shoulder injury prior to the tournament also might be the reasons for his poor show. The Saurashtra lad managed to score just 57 runs in the tournament and picked up just 9 wickets with the ball. 
8. Dale Steyn

At least 7 out of 10 cricket expert would have put their money on Dale Steyn for being the best fast bowler coming into the World Cup but his performance did not justify that tag at all. Steyn failed at the crucial juncture when his team wanted him to stand up. He picked up just 11 wickets in the 8 matches at an ordinary average of 31.45. 
9. James Anderson

Nuwan Kulasekara’s role was to provide the Sri Lankans with vital breakthroughs, early in the innings with a swinging new ball but he could not perform to the expectations and was even dropped from the Sri lankan team in the World Cup. Kulasekara picked up only 4 wickets in the tournament.
