England pacer Tymal Mills has been ruled out of The Hundred tournament after the speedster suffered an injury in his toe. This is not the first time when the 30-year-old got ruled out of a competition because of his injury. Be it in the T20 World Cup or IPL, injuries have stopped him from competing further.

Representing the Southern Brave, Mills was brilliant last season. He couldn’t replicate his heroics this year and played only one of the side’s first four matches. He went wicketless and gave away 33 of 20 balls that he bowled as his team lost by 53 runs against Birmingham Phoenix.

The team is yet to announce a replacement for the pacer. They would be looking for a perfect replacement as the defending champions are currently 6th in the table with just one win in four matches.

Tymal Mills and his history of injuries

As stated, ruling out because of an injury is not something new for Tymal Mills. Based on his brilliant performance for the Brave last year, Mills was called up to the England squad for the T20 World Cup 2021. He, however, was knocked out in the later stages of the tournament with a thigh injury.

The 30-year-old was then picked up by Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. However, he again suffered an injury which ruled him out of the competition. South African Tristan Stubbs was named as his replacement.

It’s unknown when the pacer will return to the field. He, however, remains hopeful to make it into the England squad for the T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, in his absence, Marcus Stoinis is doing the tough job as Craig Overton is currently playing for England Lions. On the other hand, George Garton is taking things slow after suffering from Covid for a long time.

Meanwhile, the Brave will next challenge Manchester Originals on the 18th of August at Southampton. They will have to win all their next matches in order to qualify for the knock-outs.
