The last game before the finals of T20 tri-series between the hosts Sri Lanka and Bangladesh saw twists and turns with Bangladesh sealing the final berth after Mahmadullah hitting the penultimate ball of the match for a six. But things conspired just before and after the game was over was not needed in the gentlemen’s game of cricket.

The tensed virtual semifinal between the sides took an ugly turn in the final over of the match when skipper Shakib Al Hasan was seen asking the two batsmen in the middle to stop the match as he was protesting for something. Bangladesh needed 12 runs in the final over to get into the finals where India has already reached.

Shakib Al Hasan felt that the second bouncer was over the head and should’ve been a no ball. He looked charged up as he came to the boundary line asking his batters to come out. However, after few minutes of arguments with the umpires, the game went ahead.

Nagin dance and the heated brawl

Mahmudullah smashed a four and a six to win the game for his side. Bangladeshi players, all of them including few of the support staff members were seen celebrating by doing the cobra dance step on the ground. The heated moment was yet to end as while the players were shaking hands, another fight erupted when Bangladesh’s Sohan Gazi and Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis got into word fight.

However, cool-headed Tamim Iqbal made sure that the lines were not crossed as he pulled Mendis away from Gazi towards the dressing room. Sohan was taken away by his teammates and coach Walsh. Mahmudullah was seen giving a mouthful to his teammate.

Things did not stop there as the pictures of the broken glass of Bangladesh’s dressing room started to circulate online. It was reported that someone broke the glass while celebrating their victory against the hosts.

Former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya took to Twitter to show his anger on the issue as he shared the picture of the broken glass of the dressing room. Jayasuriya called the behaviour of the Bangladeshi side 3rd class.

Interestingly, he deleted the tweet after some time.
