Pakistan pacer Mohammed Amir said that he is quite satisfied with his performance after returning to international cricket. He said that it is difficult to make a comeback at the international level after being out in the cold without any cricketing actions for five years. The poster boy of Pakistan cricket also dug in his numbers and said that he bowled the second most number of overs last year. He thanked the Almighty for keeping him fit as he is playing all the three formats of the game.

The speedster also told ESPNcricinfo that two deliveries that he bowled in the Champions Trophy in England this year, helped him change his image in the United Kingdom. Indian captain Virat Kohli was dropped on the first occasion but Amir dismissed him in the next ball.

“Those two deliveries, the first one on which Azhar [bhai] dropped Kohli’s catch and the next ball where I claimed his wicket changed my image in UK,” Amir said. “When I was walking back to my bowling mark after the dropped catch, I was thinking that we have lost half of the final now.”

I can’t have those long hair back: Amir

He also said that he has not lost any swing and it is just that the pitches don’t assist the pacers much “I can’t have those long hair back [laugh], at that time Amir didn’t even have a beard, now he does,” he said on being quizzed of whether he plans to get his long hair back.

While many of his cricketing colleagues are cutting down a particular format to increase the longevity, Amir feels that it is too early to scrap a format and that he is available in all the three formats of the game. “I am available for all three formats for now, and haven’t taken any decisions about prioritizing a certain format to extend my career,” he said.
