India has their work cut out when it comes to the international schedule for the upcoming season. Following their series against England initially, they will entertain the Bangladeshis in the following series. The series will be the first of its kind and is expected to spark off some rivalry between the two nations.

However, after that, there is the small matter of the Indian Premier League that will last for the most part of the Indian summer while there would be a certain amount of international cricket being played at the time. Before the IPL, Virat Kohli will take great pride in captaining his Test side once again before the start of the IPL.

Kohli has never captained India at home against Australia in Test matches, something that he would hope to get off his chest in the coming months. What would succeed the Indian Premier League would be perhaps Kohli’s biggest test. The ICC Champions Trophy sees the Indians make their way into the grand scheme of things as champions, something that Kohli would be ideally aiming to accomplish as well.

What follows the Champions Trophy would be a massive amount of time on the road as far as the Indians are concerned. However, as far as the tours go, the Indians begin at the West Indies and Sri Lanka before their major challenge against South Africa in the fall of the year 2017. That will perhaps be a test of not only the Indian side but also for Kumble and Kohli as well.
