Australia are currently involved in the second game of the two-match Test series against Pakistan in Adelaide. This match turned out to be a memorable match for David Warner, who smashed his first triple-century of his Test career. But, on such a big day, one of his old tweets started doing the rounds on social media.

After struggling through a poor form in Ashes 2019, the left-handed batsman has made a strong comeback in the longer format. In the series opener, he played a marathon knock of 154 runs before he was dismissed by the 16-year-old young Pakistan bowler Naseem Shah. But, nobody knew that the best from Warner’s willow was yet to come.

On the opening day of the second Test, he smashed a brilliant century and ended at a score of 166*. On the next day, he started off with an aggressive approach against Pakistan bowlers and played a varied range of strokes from his cricketing dictionary. He completed his triple century in style with a boundary off Mohammad Abbas.

He went unbeaten at a score of 335* runs after Australian skipper Tim Paine shockingly declared the innings. There was a slight chance that Warner might have become the second international player to score four hundred runs in an innings after Brian Lara. It might light up a debate over the surprising decision of the Aussie skipper.

David Warner’s four-year-old tweet started making rounds after his triple century

David Warner broke many records during his marathon knock. He now holds the highest individual score at the Adelaide Oval and surpassed the former Aussie great Don Bradman’s score of 334*. It is also the second triple century in the history of Day-night Test matches after Azhar Ali’s 302*.

As soon as the left-handed opener reached his triple century, one of his four-years-old tweets resurfaced on social media and started taking rounds. In that tweet, a fan urged Warner to score a triple in Test cricket. In reply, the Australian international laughed off saying that have you seen my patience.

Here is the conversation:

Day 2 of the 2nd Test went into the courtyards of the hosts. Australia posted a mammoth total of 589 runs at the loss of three wickets. Later on, their bowlers did a commendable job, who bowled some brilliant spells against Pakistan batsmen. At the end of the second-day game, the visitors were left struggling at with 96 runs at the loss of six wickets.
