KL Rahul shed his Test specialist tag which and gave a dream start to his to his ODI by smashing a century on debut. His inception to the limited overs format was pretty smooth. Rahul came out to open the bat with an easy 169 runs target at sight in the series opener. He batted calmly and avoided any unnecessary risks to help India chase down the target with 9 wickets in hands, hitting 100 runs off just 115 balls. His approach towards the task was commendable. <p>Blessed with a great hand-eye co-ordination Raman Lamba was known for his likeness to improvise on the field and his quick reflexes. Lamba scored 64 runs with a strike rate of 120+ in his debut match against Australia in 1986. Lamba ranks sixth in the list of best debut scorers for India in ODIs. He later died at a young age due to getting hit on his head by a ball while fielding close in.</p>
<h4><strong>6. Ajit Wadekar- 67 Runs:</strong></h4>

<p>Ajit Wadekar made his ODI debut for India against England in the year 1974, he was considered as one of the best No. 3 batsmen in Indian history. With a score of 67 runs in his debut match Ajit Wadekar ranks fifth in the list.</p>

<p>This young Indian talent made his debut recently in a match against Zimbabwe in 2015, scoring 71 runs. He was the first Indian batsman to score a century in IPL, Manish&#8217;s batting skill makes him a great aspect for the future of Indian cricket team. With 71 runs in his debut match Manish Pandey bags the fourth position on the list.</p>

<p>Probably one the most outspoken cricketers of all-time, Navjot Sidhu was a dashing hard-hitting batsman. His ruthlessness for spin was remarkable as he smashed the bowlers all-round the park. Sidhu made his ODI debut against Australia in 1987 scoring 73 runs, he ranks third in the list of best debut scorers for India in ODIs.</p>
<h4><strong>3. Brijesh Patel- 82 Runs:</strong></h4>

<p>A run machine at the domestic level and an able middle-order batsman, Brijesh Patel made his ODI debut against England in 1974. Considered as the glamour-boy of the game, Patel was capable of ripping apart the best bowling attacks in the world. He scored 82 runs with a strike rate of 105+ in his debut match, Patel ranks second in the list of best debut scorers for India in ODIs.</p>
<h4><strong>2. Robin Uthappa- 86 Runs:</strong></h4>

<p>Robin Uthappa made his ODI debut against England in 2006, he scored 86 runs at a healthy strike rate. Robin&#8217;s ability to play all-around the wicket and willingness to play the ball in the air made him a lethal asset to have, however his temperament has been a big problem in his career. With a debut score of 86 runs Uthappa tops the list of best debut scorers for India in ODIs.</p>

<p>KL Rahul shed his Test specialist tag which and gave a dream start to his to his ODI by smashing a century on debut. His inception to the limited overs format was pretty smooth. Rahul came out to open the bat with an easy 169 runs target at sight in the series opener. He batted calmly and avoided any unnecessary risks to help India chase down the target with 9 wickets in hands, hitting 100 runs off just 115 balls. His approach towards the task was commendable. On his way to taking his team to victory, Rahul also became the first Indian batsman ever to hit a century on debut.</p>
