Top 10 Teams with most individual double centuries in Tests: Test cricket has been the ultimate test for any player. To succeed in this format of the game one needs to be extremely patient and skillful so as to maneuver through five days of energy sapping and intense cricket. As India and Sri Lanka took to the field in Galle for the first test between the nations since 2010, we decided to take a look at some of the best teams in Test cricket. Here is a list of Top 10 Teams with most individual double centuries in Tests: 10. Bangladesh – 2: Mushfiqur Rahim the Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman has a double hundred in Test cricket. They have registered just 2 double centuries by 2 different players in Test cricket in the two years from 2013 till now. Zimbabwe – 4: Andy Flower has been the best batsman to have played for Zimbabwe in Tests. They have been the perennial under dogs in Tests for as far as anyone can remember. There have been only 4 innings from 4 players in the years 1994-2000 where a Zimbabwean player has scored a double century in Test cricket. 8. New Zealand – 22: Brendon McCullum the Kiwi skipper has taken the charge of scoring runs for New Zealand in all formats. Their highest individual score in a Test match is 311* and they have scored 6579 runs in total over these 28 innings. They have produced some great players like Amla and De Villiers and so it is no surprise to see them in this list but maybe its a little surprising to see them at number 7. 6. Sri Lanka – 34: Kumar Sangakkara is the leading run scorer for Sri Lanka in Tests. But they have only been able to score a double century on 34 occasions in Test cricket. It is also worth noting that only 9 players in their history has contributed to these 34 innings and their highest individual score in Tests is a mammoth 374. 5. Pakistan – 40: Younis Khan. (Photo Source : Getty Images) Pakistan as a team has always been a dangerous one throughout their history. 21 Pakistani players have contributed a combined 40 innings in which a player has scored a double century for the team. Pakistan has been playing Test cricket since the year 1955. And their highest individual score in Tests is 337. 4. India – 43: Virender Sehwag. (Photo Source: Getty Images) With batting legends like Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid and Sehwag perhaps its a little disappointing to see the famed Indian batting line up to be on the number 4 spot on this list. 20 Indians have scored a double century in Test cricket and have a combined total of 43 double centuries in world cricket in Tests. Their highest score is 319 scored by the dashing Virender Sehwag. 3. West Indies – 51: Brian Lara holds the world record for the highest individual score in Test cricket.(Photo Source: PA Photos) Brian Lara holds the world record for the highest individual score in Test cricket when he scored an apparently insurmountable 400* in a Test match. 27 West Indian players have contributed to a total of 51 innings where they have scored a double century in Tests from the year 1930 till 2014. 2. England – 53: Kevin Pietersen has a huge contribution to English cricket as a Test batsman. A total of 34 players have contributed to this feat in Test match cricket. Their highest individual score in Tests is a staggering 364. England is one of the teams who have been playing Test cricket for a very long time in the world and its inevitable that they feature this high in the list. 1. Australia – 70: David Warner. Aussies have scored a double century on 70 instances in Test cricket. 37 players have contributed to this extra ordinary feat since the year 1884 in Test cricket for Australia.
