South Africa played its first T20I in 2005 and has played 94 matches since then. They have won 55 matches and lost 38 of them. South Africa hosted the very first ICC World T20 in 2007 and is a constant threat in every competition they take part in. Recently they whitewashed India 3-0 in India in the T20 format.

Their highest score of 241/6 came against England in Centurion, while their lowest score of 100 came against Pakistan in Centurion in 2013. Faf du Plessis holds the record for the highest individual score for South Africa, scoring 119* against West Indies in a losing cause. While Ryan McLaren holds the record for best bowling with 5/19 coming against West Indies in 2010.
