Life as a cricketer might look like it’s very easy on the outside as they seem to have a lot of fame, respect, and wealth. However, it requires great skill, determination, and dedication to become a cricketer as there are several difficulties that one needs to overcome.

And life after becoming a professional cricketer isn’t easy by any means as there will be critics and ill-wishers waiting to pounce on either poor performances on the field or something else off the field. In this day and age of social media, everything a player does on and off the field is observed by fans and even the slightest of errors attract negative attention.

Being a successful cricketer requires a lot of skill and hard work, but being a successful cricketer without having many haters is also an art. The way a player conducts himself on and off the field is very important.

On that note, here’s a look at 5 IPL players who are least hated by fans:

The Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer has played 178 games for his country and he has had a very good career. He has generally conducted himself quite well on the field and rarely loses his composure. The 30-year-old comes across as a pretty calm person and doesn’t take anything for granted.

Rahul Dravid is Ajinkya Rahane’s role model and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that both of them have a lot of things in common. Both of them are complete team players and will do whatever is best for the team.

Even when Rahane was dropped in an unfair manner from the ODI squad, he didn’t raise any issue against the team management. He always keeps his cool on the field, and it was visible during the recently concluded Test series against Australia. Despite winning the series as captain, he was pretty humble and didn’t even give himself much credit.

On the field, he has had quite a good career having represented India on 179 occasions. He has played 149 IPL games and scored 3933 runs at an average of 31.71. The Delhi Capitals batsman is currently 11th on the all-time scoring charts and could potentially find himself in the top 10 at the end of the 2021 season.

AB de Villiers is one of the greatest cricketers of all time, and the manner in which he scores his runs is quite astonishing. Mr. 360 can do the impossible and has the ability to hit the ball anywhere. The way he manages to score runs consistently even while taking risks on a regular basis is very impressive.

Despite everything he has achieved in his career, he is one of the most humble cricketers in the world and never fails to impress fans with his conduct. He is possibly the most loved overseas cricketer in India and even he has often said that Bengaluru is his 2nd home.

He has scored 4849 runs in 169 IPL matches at an average of 40.4. ABD has entertained fans with his exemplary batting in the Indian Premier League and is undoubtedly one of the least hated cricketers at present.

He is one of the most popular Indian cricketers at present and is arguably the one with the fewest haters. His calm demeanor was on display during the series against Australia as he never lost his cool despite having so many catches dropped in his bowling.

The 27-year-old is always smiling on the field and his reactions don’t change even if there is a misfield when he is bowling.

The New Zealand captain Kane Williamson is surely the least hated cricketer in the world and is probably the nicest person in the sport. The way he conducts himself on and off the field is quite amazing, and he is as cool as a cucumber.

Even when his team was defeated in a super over in the World Cup final in 2019, he didn’t show much emotion and simply smiled, which won the hearts of many cricket fans. He didn’t even complain about the umpiring errors or the unfair boundary count rule that denied his country their first-ever World Cup, showing his class.

The Kiwi batsman has scored 1619 runs in 53 IPL games at an average of nearly 40. Williamson is a true gentleman and apart from being remembered as one of the greatest players of his generation, he will also be remembered as one of the most respected cricketers of all time.
