Kohli gifts Sarfaraz a pair of gloves and a bat :

  • Sarfaraz Khan has been one of the brighter young prospects over the past few years, however, was not a regular for RCB this season despite a string of good performances.
  • Kohli, despite his comment for Sarfaraz to improve his fitness levels, has left the youngster with a valuable parting gift. Kohli gifted Sarfaraz a pair of gloves and a bat, which he feels can help Sarfaraz reach his career goals as a cricketer.

Shaminda Eranga reported for suspect action :

  • Sri Lankan pacer Shaminda Eranga has been reported for suspect action following the 2nd Test between England and Sri Lanka. He will undergo tests to ensure his action’s legality, but has been permitted to play international cricket till the results of the tests are made available.

Vettori lauds Ben Cutting for his match winning performance :

  • SRH found an unlikely hero in the form of Ben Cutting, who’s all-round efforts won SRH their maiden IPL title. Vettori, RCB’s Head Coach, lauded the Australian all-rounder for his exceptional performance in the finals.
  • “Ben Cutting with his batting was probably decisive. If you look at the overall scheme of things, he took some crucial wickets too that put us on the back foot,” Daniel Vettori, the RCB Coach said in the post-match press conference on Sunday.

Yusuf Pathan to play for Abahani Limited in Dhaka Premier League

  • Yusuf Pathan, after a successful stint in IPL with the bat, will make his mark in the Dhaka Premier League. He has been drafted in to play for Abahani Limited for the List A tournament.
  • He is the 6th Indian to be drafted in to play in the Bangladesh based List A tournament, after BCCI had mended it’s rules to allow Indian cricketers to participate in List A tournaments outside India.

  • Joe Root has been in a tremendous form for England over the past 18 months, and he was duly rewarded as he won the Ceat Cricketer of the Year and Batsman of the year award.
  • While Ashwin bagged the Bowler of the year award, Kohli received the T20 player of the year award for a brilliant season in the shortest format. Additionally, Rohit Sharma was awarded with the Indian Player of the year title, whereas former Indian batsman Dilip Vengasarkar was presented with a lifetime achievement award.

  • Bangladesh Head Coach Chandrika Hathurusingha has been inducted into Bangladesh selection panel, thus empowering the coach to make decisions in selecting the team composition.

  • Former Indian Cricket Director Ravi Shastri, on a recent interview, has put his weight on appointing Kohli as India’s captain in all the formats.

  • Rohit Sharma, despite his poweress in the shorter formats, has been in and out of the Indian test team over the past couple of years. However, thanks to a great IPL, the Mumbai batsman has found some much required confidence to succeed in the longer format.
