Jasprit Bumrah attains career best ranking after Sri Lanka ODI series

  • India pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made handsome gains in the latest ICC ODI Player Rankings after playing a big role in the team’s 5-0 series whitewash over Sri Lanka.
  • Bumrah has moved up 27 ranks to a career-best fourth position in a list led by Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood with South Africa spinner Imran Tahir and Australia pace bowler Mitchell Starc the other two bowlers ahead of him.

Ben Dunk signs a 2-year contract with Melbourne Stars

  • Tasmania batsman Ben Dunk has inked a 2-year deal with Melbourne Stars, on Monday ( 4th September). The explosive opener represented Adelaide Strikers during the 2016-17 season of BBL and turned out to be the highest run-getter with 364 runs.
  • Previously, Dunk has played for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. The 30-year old has played 5 T20I games for Australia, scoring 99 runs at a strike rate of 143.47.

Lalit Modi expected a larger bid for IPL telecast rights

  • The island nation is set to tour UAE to play the longest format of the game from September 28 to October 10. They will play a day match and one day-night Test match on the tour. The Day-night Test match would be the second one in the country.
